Final Fantasy XIV's gameplay, while still shrouded in mystery, will make many thoughts from not only Final Fantasy XI, but also other popular MMORPG's to create an enthralling and unique system. Players will be able to advance through the game by working on their production and gathering skills (as Disciples of Hand and Disciples of Land, respectively), while still venturing into the traditional methods of being a mage (Disciple of Magic) or a brutish melee (Disciple of War).
Regardless of the decision, each player will be able to progress through the game by working in both group projects and individual efforts. Square Enix has familiarized their fan base with the Guildleve System, allowing players to quickly group together for a myriad of contrasting tasks, from collecting items to slaying beasts to delivering messages, while also promising interesting storyline progress and elaborate dungeon schemes.
One of the largest details with gameplay in Final Fantasy XIV will surely be the fact that nearly everything used in the game will show some sort of wear and tear through the all-new degradation system. A number of different measures will likely be introduced to not only repair damaged items, but also to synthesize high quality versions or to ensure that as much precaution can be taken to reduce the impact of degradation.
The game will also allow players to customize a great deal of their experience, from the ways their characters appear in-game, to the different menus and icons that appear on-screen. This system should facilitate a more enjoyable venture for all players, regardless of their specific in-game interests and hobbies.
