Ok, Starcraft2 confirmed my need for FFxiv, and in the mean time, Beta. SC2 is good, but I just kept thinking about FFxiv.

I hope I get in soon, now.

I think i would have been happier to get into the beta earlier to see a few features and then quit before this phase..do you really want to play the game for 2 months to have your character wiped? The only thing id do is try all the different classes and try to build up my recipe knowledge for crafting classes...

Indeed I do. I want as much knowledge about my class that I can muster up before release as possible so I can play to the best of my ability straight off the bat.

In my opinion, as a hardcore gamer, it is worth me buying my way in to have prior knowledge to help my Company quickly rise to top of the server.

I'd still take an invite, even if only for a week or 2 to test some of the systems. I'm jealous of all the testers out there.

I understand, I did that with WoW open beta and EQ2 closed beta as well, i guess FF just makes me want to preserve some of the magic. I also need those two months to get ready to live with no light for the next 5 years =P

I'm hoping i've finally paid my due's to get into beta... bought a copy for the ps3 (before I had a PS3) to get the key... Though I do realize that killed my chances for the PC version, I circumvented that by using my wife's application for beta lol. got CE edition already paid for X2, and I even went so far as to reactivate XI for both my wife and I....

Oh it's going to be magical on September 22nd :th_070_goodjob: It's still going to be just as amazing simply due to the fact that it will matter on live servers instead of just "practice". I will be the best beta tester I can be, checking for any bugs or errors and making as many suggestions as I deem needed, but I am after knowledge!

CAUSE KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

Wrong. The more bugs that are found and fixed now make less bugs we have to deal with when our characters are permanent and we're playing for keeps. I vote for a less bug free launch. People like you who think that betas are just free trials should not be allowed to sign up.

If I had a user testing one of my real life software projects who was just screwing around with the program and not testing, he would be replaced by management asap.

When did I say I was like that? =x I dont even want to get into beta. Plus i like to submit bug reports!

I was just stating that a lot of people are getting excited about the 24/7 thing because they want to play/see more of the game.

To most of you: What do Square Enix's ass cheeks taste like ?
I never learned how to tune a harp, or play upon a lute; but I know how to raise a small and inconsiderable city to glory and greatness.

Wish I was able to tell you, because than I'd have beta access.

With 24/7 servers, I see the game finalizing within the next month or so. Which means hopefully there will be an Open Beta a few weeks before launch. Only time will tell

Sounds great. I hope this 24/7 helps SE iron out the rest of the kinks and refine other aspects of FFXIV!!

Glad the beta is going 24/7 to help work out the kinks and game play with XIV. It would be even better if I had a beta invite XD I'll probably pick up my copy of Starcraft II while I wait for XIV to come out.
