Hey everyone... There are three ways to get listener mail submitted to the show and I wanted to give you that information here:

1. Post in this topic, or on the CyrstalCore boards. We'll review and take the best submissions.
2. Email the show at podcast@comicearth.com - that goes right to my mailbox for the show, just be sure to have complete thoughts. :)
3. PM me on the site.

Basically do a public reply, or send me a message directly. And we'll take the best questions or ideas and put them in the show.

Look forward to what you have for us! :)

While the job system seems new and I am eager to give it a try I am wondering how this is going to change classic Final Fantasy elements. Classic job will be gone replaced my user generated classes. I was wondering how this was going to effect unique classes like BRD, SMN, BLU and similar classes. Also I haven't heard any information of summons for the game, any news there?

-How do you feel about guildleves being instanced?
-It's been mentioned in interviews that you'll be able to change the skin color of your character, do you think that players will finally be able to make, sorry for the lack of a better term, black characters?

Hello! Great show so far.

Today ffxivcore.com posted news from Famitsu that details some of the enemies in the game. Besides the puk's that we've seen, we learned that opo-opo's are making a return from FFXI. On top of the races being reworked, a lot of content from FFXI seems to be getting recycled into FFXIV. Do you think this is good or bad? Will it flesh out the identity of FFXIV, or mire it in reflections upon FFXI's past?

Further, the opo-opo is interesting because it was a seemingly unused/uncommon enemy in FFXI. On the topic of content that never meets its full potential, do you think Square Enix can make more of its content "useful" to a wider audience--perhaps via the Guildleve or even through the apparently more free-form nature of classes? A lot of media I've seen recently has showcased parts of FFXI that didn't see much action, like Castle Zvahl Baileys, and I don't want interesting parts of FFXIV to be one-shot areas.

Ryozenzuzex - formerly of Fenrir.

--

(I wonder if I should say that a lot of content in FFXI is ignored because the powergamer aspect of FFXI teaches people to seek the easiest and most exploitable areas of the game. You fight crabs because crabs have easy specials to handle. You go to Mamook because it is easy to reach and has experience bonuses and an abundance of enemies. In the meantime, you ignore other content.)

Heys Crystal Core Crew. Great show, It answered alot of my questions. Only question I think didnt get answered was the fact that If i could use my mini keyboard that hooks up to the ps3 controller and type that way on the messege board located bottom left of the screen? I believe 360 users were able to use theres for FF XI. Just a thought
p.s. no goblins in FF XIV lol

Also another question. LOL sorry, but the icons on the bottom screen I can't tell what they are. Any chance you guys had a closer look?

That's a good question as well, because I wanted to make a character that looked a little like me on FF XI but never got the chance.

Also the fact that nobuo uematsu is doing all the songs for FF XIV is nice and all cause im a huge fan, but there are others that do final fantasy music (example: Kumi Tanioki, Naoshi Mizuta). Any chance they might also be working on the music? and if not do you think this is fair? O.o

acually naoshi did most of the songs on FF XI lol

Kaze Edit: Please no double, or triple posts :/

As we know equipment will be playing a major focus in FFXIV and that different pieces of equipment will essentially change your characters "class", how do you think this will change the way your backpack/inventory works in comparison to FFXI? Having so many pieces of equipment to just change classes it would seem that this would restrict the amount of actual non-equipment items one could carry.

Hey fellas, long time listener and long time player of XI. Ramuh Hume 75 DRK, 75 PLD. First of all I just want to say that the podcast is a big hit with my buddies and I. We're all hoping you "keep on keeping on" and keep your head above water until XIV releases.

Should we expect the choice to train our characters in a way that could encompass an entire selection of abilities and magic? Do we have the ability to make our characters masters of everything in one class based on equipment?

For instance could we create a armor wearing, two handed sword swinging, healing, and nuking character with a floating Diablo over head?

Thanks for your time,
Hawkeye

Hey Podcast. I was wondering, since character customization has greatly changed over FF XI. Is it possible that you could be child sized? Like you acually look like a teenage kid?

Why i say that is because of this:

http://www.videogame...e-wallpaper.jpg

if you look at the hyur boy with blonde hair by the guildleve, he is clearly not sitting down and does not have a older body.

Hey guys, love the podcasts so far, I just started listening Tuesday. What do you guys think about AF gear? With the new "job" system, do you think it would be possible? How do yall think it could work?

One of the most important things that kept me playing FFXI is the Sub-Jobs.

FFXIV Must have the Sub-Job ability!!!, it ads a tremendous amount of diversity to the game and allows much more room for developing techniques and strategy, Especially when the game is going to be more individualized and into char. development. Shedding more light into solo play, it would be almost necessary to be able to heal your self in battle with out relying on potions to make it practical.

How do you think sub-jobs would fit in the whole "Class" system. being that your weapon is your "job" how would you change your sub-job? a sub weapon?

Hey guys I used to play FFXI a few years back and loved it, but having two kids killed my game time and I eventually had to quit. I currently play WoW due to the less amount of game time required to lvl and etc. But this game makes me miss playing ffxi so much that i'm definitely quitting WoW once I can get the beta or this game drops. My only worry and question to you guys is about the "NO LEVELING SYSTEM" that they are gonna use, I understand we will be using skill ups to make our character, but say like from the dunes to the next area to xp in how would you know ur character is advanced enough to be in that region w/o a leveling system. Or fighting a harder boss how would u know if someone is even capable of helping you since you can't see what "level" they are. Just want your thoughts and opinions on this subject.

Thx

I been lissioning to your 3rd Podcast and you talked about equiping armor and weapons. I would like to mention how I think the system would work, well theres 2 ways one way would be like toget rid of the hole exp and level system in FF11 and replace it with the merit system in FF11 from lv1-75 like you could either merit your skills or Hp toget it from 50 to 1500, square also said the storyline would level you up, i would think that would increass the merit cap and you can spend exp towards those things.

For the armor system and weapons i think you would have to forget some parts of the combat system in FF11 and think if you were normal person in the real world and picked up a wooden pole and hit someone and then tryed it with a sword you would see a improvement, now what I mean by this is your HP,MP,TP would either remain the same between switching armor and weapons but your attack power and DEF would be diffrent.

Not to forget the Gobbie bag but forget about slots and think of Elder Scrolls Morrow wind/Oblivion, the weight system where stuff was either too heavey or light.

Now switching between classes in FF14 I think the best DD job you could do is play as a fast attack class build tp to 100+, switch to high weapon skill class and use TP gain from the fast attack class.

Dear Crystal Core,
I think you guys are filling a big void with all the mystery surrounding this game. Thank you! My question is a question i posted on the boards about endgame hobbies so to speak. Only a few handful of people (literally)got their relic weapon maxed, if at all got them.. in FFXI. I wonder what advanced hobbies FFXIV is planning. I suggested that bringing back elements in old school final fantasy rpgs to this one would be meaningful and exciting. For example, Magitek Armor (you guys can elaborate) from FFvi. Its not so much as an armor as it is your own personal robot suit. The upgrades, the crafting, it has it all.. in closing think Xenogears meets a better thought out Pankration..

yours truley..,
R.E.M.O. Hades server

p.s. I miss the ability to morph in FFVI as well as do Street fighter moves on Ultros!!

Hey Brian and Abadon, I have been listening to your podcast since beginning of the Crystal Core, and I like to say I'm enjoying it alot. Thank Guys.

This is not a Question but a text where I would like you guys to comment.

"From the days of Ultima Online and Tibia, there weren't any addons, even so the quests were not many, only few or sometimes none! there werent any DPS meter even people would talk about it. From that we passed to the 2nd Generation were we see a more detailed/realistic and cartoon like MMORPG, Anarchy Online, Maple Story, Ragnarok Online, Lineage, they had quest, that told you what to do, and even some you need to discover. People started to take more care about the equipement, enchants, +9 items to have the best damage in the game, even so you would die with a Azure Strike (RO).
Final Fantasy XI, Lineage II, Everquest II, World of Warcraft, these games have Quest with story, a meaning for what and why we are doing it.
But then the addons came, people started to skip the dialog of the quest, pressing "next" and leaving the storyline back, skiping the story it self with some addons that give you the locations, named "The QuestHelper" for the only reason: Get EXP faster.
MMORPG like WOW have these addons, other are implanted on the game such as Aion, some games like FFXI have Cutscenes that gives you the story by force. The DPS Meter came, people use it to see if they are the top of the damage, just so that feels great to ask "how much DPS you have?" and then you say I donnu, and they start laughing.
Will FFXIV be like this, will addons help and unhelp at the same time? Will you skip the story and just do the Guildleave? Is being the top DPS realhy matters?"

Cheers - Mooga

It's just a thought! And a opinion about those 2 type of addons, I agreed with having addons to help on AH and Prices and Skill CD. But those type of addons are the "Mean ones" because many people skip the 1 purpose of the game "The Story" and Playing the game.

Hey guys love the show, just wondering are they keeping beastmen in the game and utilizing them as they did in FFXI or do you think they are going to take a different approach in this one. I like the idea of the Campaign element in 11 and wondering if they are going to bring something like that to 14..

thanks for your time, Ringtone!
