American Pre-Order Numbers (Source)

Wagram123 discovered the North American pre-order numbers for Final Fantasy XIV so far. It's updated once a week and the numbers are not to be taken with a 100% accuracy, so don't go crazy! But should be fairly close to the real deal.

Note that there's still 11 weeks until the launch of FFXIV and there are already 79,937 PC North American pre-orders of the game. Also the change from the last week is an increase of 38,706 pre-orders for the PC.

The amount of PS3 pre-orders are currently at 18,007, a number increased by 3,403 since last week.

Currently the total pre-order number for PC and PS3 is at 97,944. (North America only)

It's also listed as number 12 so far on the pre-order list, with titles such as Starcraft 2 and Halo: Reach on top of the list.

Also interesting to note that the week XIV got a release date, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm got a -23,435 update on the numbers. A bunch of people canceled their pre-orders.

This week

+ 38,706 PC = 79,937
+ 3,403 PS3 = 18,007

+ 42,109 = 97,944 Total

Is there like a limit on the amount on Pre-orders, or is it like, unlimited? :th_052_:

Good question - not sure!

I would be curious to find out how many pre-orders are found in the other regions.

I do not believe there is a limit to the amount of Pre-Orders. There may be for the Collector's Edition though.

Final Fantasy XIV Standard Edition has been bouncing between #1 and #2 on Amazon.com/jp

No actual sales numbers, but it is something. I expect Japan to beat America in sales for the game. They will definitely beat us on PS3.

Should be. There is a rumor that SE is making 300,000 C.E. copies.

Hopefully Fischer understands that this game needs to be marketed if it wants a good amount of players.

As much as I like Warcraft as a series I can't help but say... TAKE IT!

I'm guessing the whole real ID thing Blizzard was proposing prompted these cancellations. I imagine they had as many or more account deactivations due to this as well.

It's cool to know that almost 100,000 people have preordered for FFXIV already though. I just wonder how many will stay around after the first couple months.

These are some pretty decent numbers with no advertising floating around yet. Wonder if it will break 200k before retail.

Very interesting to see the numbers like that! I wonder how it is doing in other countries though? I imagine that in Japan the numbers would be similar or even higher. Then adding in Europe and Australia/New Zealand I bet the numbers are already close to 200k.

The Cataclysm cancellations is especially awesome, though I do agree that a lot of those are probably from the RealID fiasco and not from the FF XIV announcement as we'd like to think. I know for me personally that that announcement made me seriously reconsider buying Blizzard products in the future.

I doubt the cancellations were from the Real ID proposals, since Blizzard decided not to go through with it. While 23,000+ isn't much when 11+ million people play, it's still a pretty big number of people. I'm sure more people will preorder it when a release date is set or buy it when it's released. I haven't preordered my FF14 nor my Cataclysm copy, but I should probably do that soon.

Remember this is America only. and IMO the numbers so far are fantastic. I expected a WW Week 1 of 100k. and it looks like the game could possibly reach 400k+ week 1 if the numbers continue as they are.
