Kind of a bizarre suggestion, but if they can make just one of the premade faces for the "Galka" happy or goofy looking, I would be most pleased!

I don't RP, but my background for my old FFXI character was a Galka that lived in Windhurst that loved goblins and believe that he, himself, was a Tarutaru. It always bugged me that he had a serious looking face! I will carry that tradition, and bring that guy over to FFXIV, but it would be nice if I can get just one happy looking "Galka" face to match his friendly, eccentric personality!

They had a new video thats up on Gametrailer I think, that has some demos of emotes and facial animations. The Galka guy could definitely smile but I don't know if you could keep it that way.

Cool! Thanks for the link. I checked it out, and you're right. They can crack a smile every now and then, but they go back to their unsmiling, stoic look.

Hopefully, one of the designers is thinking like me, haha. I'l keep my fingers crossed.

I can't see why any next gen MMO wouldn't have a somewhat detailed character creator screen. Even if they had premade faces would it really be a big problem to throw in sliders for chin length, eye size, mouth size, ect. Even something to change your height would be huge for me. In XI I felt that every Elvaan looked exactly like me and I'm glad to see some MMO's coming out now that address this.
