They've got the battle theme playing too. It's really quite teh sex.

I'm really loving the Thaumaturge too, starting to look more and more like a Status Wizard. Good buffs, good debuffs, lots of health stealing, as well as with other attributes).

Along with the awesome aesthetics, the Thaumaturge is drawing me ever closer into it's ravenous grasp haha.

archer abilities make it sound as if they'll be able to restock projectiles during battle at the cost of HP/MP or other counterbalances, but does that include arrows? would definitely make the archer more dynamic! but I imagine the more complex types of arrows would still need to be crafted? perhaps the arrows recoverable on the fly (in the field) will be the all-purpose kind and then from those they can further craft the complex arrow types?

OR

would using the restock abilities "more strategically" in the field allow the archer to yield the more complex arrow types on-the-go (i.e. using replenish not just in the middle of nowhere but directed towards a specific kind of plant, perhaps a poisonous plant for poison arrows etc. ?)

lancer is sounding more and more awesome!

can't decide between a mage, archer or lancer now ;X

Still looking through the info but the battle music is kick ass and gets you pumped for an engaging battle. ^^

Edit: Anyone else notice that the Lalafell Lancers are holding their polearms left handed? Think it's just artist composition or do you think SE are hinting that you CAN be left handed as part of character customization?

like another member said, it'd be awesome if the "6-8 party limit" refers to: 6 spots reserved for fighters, 2 spots reserved for DoH/DoL.

nice catch! would be cool if it was there, but not sure what other significance it would have beyond the aesthetic? maybe some abilities could be left or right handed and accomplishing one of the opposite orientation enough times could result in more skill proficiency or something or something else special? I dunno.

I'd wait. I'm just as anxious, but as I keep looking at the potential rigs out there, I figure it'd be best to wait until a few months before the game's release. I noticed they said that the final version will be able to run on a PC thats been out for a few years prior, while the alpha test will require very high end to test it out. I'm rather interested in trying the GF100 card, hopefully it'll be released this year before XIV's release. 'course, 3d gaming isnt a massive lure to me, so I'd probably go with the Lg led-lcd instead. Its noice.

As far as the classes - The pld and war counterparts in FFXIV are shaping up nicely. I'll have to give them each a respective amount of attention. But I am liking the mages. Humming while moving to cast a spell makes me think that mages will also need to relay on strategic positioning as well. Moving from one spot to another to avoid Mob attention. Although with the remarks on positioning and direction playing key roles in combat, I have to wonder if that includes magic as well? I imagine a direct blast - like a fire spell if it projects from the mage's hand to the mob would matter if you're hitting exposed flesh or the hard exterior of a crab's shell, there'd be a difference in damage. Makes me woooonder.

When I was on Final Fantasy XIV website... It did not work. Although, for a second, it was loading up until 96 percents, then it simply stopped there... Even though, I have the latest Adobe Flash Player, Shockwave Player, Flash Player, etc installed in my computer... So, what is going on here...? Did anyone who accessed to this website is able to view everything?

Is it just me, or is the Lalafell in the pond screenshot standing on the water?

Se is really makeing it hard tp pick a class. Anyone else notice that the Thaumaturge is pictured in multiple places on the site with a shield in hand? (Battle Range Diagram and In Action) I was worried about playing a Archer because of the extreme gil drain that is ammo, but if we can scrounge together arrows it might not be so bad.
