Throwing stones?! So badass, pretty much definitely going to go straight DoL until I max it out then dabble in one of the other DoW/DoMs probably. Man I can't wait to see the other DoL stuff. :th_006_:

Thanks again Steve! I am really excited about being a Marauder now. I also like the blacksmith and miner info, this is a very original system. I am glad to finally glad to see a new mmo that is doing something different. :crab7:

Miner Q and A

Q: “Throw stones” is mentioned, but is that a miner’s only weapon?
A: At the moment yes, but maybe more things will come up.

Q: Only stones can mineral-attributed enemies?
A: It is still under adjustment, but we’re looking into other methods using items, not weapons. This is just an idea, but maybe something like pouring aqua regia, which can melt gold, onto golden enemy…

Q: As for “earning additional income to the party,” if there is one miner in the party, does every member benefit from that?
A: Yes. A loot-splitting system is still under adjustment, but it’d be nice if a party could get more benefit the more miners it has. The party risks more danger in fights that way, though.

They'll be like 10x better than an Archer without arrows, haha. But, seems pretty epic......and golden enemies, hm...interesting...

I'm hoping that these gathering classes receive a much larger portion of mined materials. It's their class and what they focus on. I hope they get what is their focus rather than getting only small portions. Gathering classes ought to be economically proficient, so I hope they are.

Thanks for keepin on top of this Steve! It strikes me as silly the way they describe the miners throwing rocks at monsters to weaken they're elemental properties but it's definitely cool to see that DoW and DoM aren't the only ones that contribute to battle. Loving this info!

I'm really excited to see how the combat system ends up. It's doing a lot of different things and they could pay off big time.

The interface is pretty well put out - making sure nothing is clogging up the screen. Also, SURNAMES! It is nice to seem them adding this in however I have a hard time coming up with a first name. I don't know how I will come up with a second. :th_001_:

Seems like FFXIV is putting alot more emphasis on a player's actual skill to proficiently play his role, whichever he chooses, rather than the plain strengh of his character. :th_096_K:
This time around people will be looking more at the quality of the player rather than his/her character's level or w/e, if you catch my drift.

Yeah, it is really interesting. Although, this worries me a bit if some people don't grasp on the system quick enough. I'm all and willing for a new change. However, their certain people that are quick to bash on new ideas without giving it much of a chance.

No, but my left shoulder feels like it's going to fall off... translating all day yesterday on a badly positioned keyboard didn't help...

This right here. I like it this way, no longer can the player with the flashiest gear out damage the person who is truly on his/her A game. I'll enjoy the new system greatly.
