If Square Enix, gave us more mount options (Besides the chocobo) what mounts would you like to see/have?
And would you like the idea of giving someone else a ride on your mount?

Ex:

Rosetta: /shout "WHITE MAGE LOOKING FOR A RIDE TO 123FAKESTREET KTHX!" :D

John Doe: <Rosetta would like to hitch a ride on your mount.>

nah really cant think of any other mount in the FF universe, except maybe a steampunk ride which wouldnt fit tho probably. But the idea of sharing mounts is something i would support

I'd like to see different colored chocobos like they had in FFVII. As for other mounts I can't think of many mobs in the FF series that would qualify or be cool to ride on, other than a Yagudo..

But I'm not sure the whole "hitch a ride" idea would work, seeing as how some morons would take people somewhere that they didn't really want to go, and even though they could dismount, it still creates an inconvenience. That, and I don't want to be asked all day for rides if I had one.

lol, always used to think and say how i'd like to ride on of those red dragon things in mount Zhayolm think they called dhak's or something. but ya those looked cool and would of been fun to ride but they not a choco and don't think they would be fast.

different colors and speeds would be cool though on the choco's if we see them as mounts again. but gaining them i'd like to see differently then the chocobo raising. that was just not really fun though some of it was funny. time consuming but not fun = why?

Whatever we get make it customizable.

If we get choco's, allow us to equip it with gear to strengthen the aspect we are using the chcobo for. If we are traveling have gear to boost chocobo duration and possibly speed, if racing have stats to boost their speeds and such, if digging, you get the idea.

Have your own mount cool having custom color mount better .. having any other mount other then a chocobo, wont happen i dont think. The color mounts from FF VII would be nice walking on walker or crossing mountains and what not. what would be nice is if you could get a choco with extra bag space so you could gather and store item in the choco bag space

They already said they aint goin to be using Chocobos in the same way as FFxi, I am intrigued by the flying cannon things in the cut scenes, they would make fun transport.

@ weeble: You did the Chocobo quests because you pretty much had to... it was the fastest transport to anywhere other than citys, teles or outpost (if you had it)

Well I certainly would like to option of bieng able to hitch rides. On the flip side, that might only be relevant if mounts were decently hard to obtain. Many games offer the option to start riding a mount at a somewhat low level, so you will often see a town full of people on mounts, making them seem as if they were a dime a dozen. Devils advocate: Why hitch a ride when you have your own.

As a person that did not play FFXI, I would find it quite appealing to have the opportunity to ride something other than a chocobo. However, I do realize that I might be missing out on a bit of the game lore surrounding reasons why only chocabos were used. This my outsider's perspective on the issue. I say yes to more mounts.

I'm sure this idea would seem decent to some, but I'm not sure that it would be feasible. I think think that after a while FFXIV would turn into a giant game of Grand Theft Chocobo.

Was suppose to be implemented and never happened. This is along the lines of what I'd definitely like to see in XIV.

yea, that would totally be awesome if you could build chocobo's based on your characters appearance and needs. Maybe some chocobos' will be better suited to carrying heavier loads of gear, maybe some are made for duration, just some variation besides pretty colors would be nice.

I just want customization. Armor, colors, different saddlebags or accessories...something that makes your mount more unique.


Then again I think LS airships would be cool or some sort of personal airship =D

It would be cool to have a Chocobo with "options"... In FFXI it took me way a whole pile of luck to get a green chocobo.... but I enjoyed the challenge of getting one myself, I think if SE does implement these again (but remember they already said Choco's are gonna be different), making you work for the items to put on your chocobo would be pretty damn cool, or special breeds or what not.
I guess I just hate having everything handed to me.



I mean, you could "equip" him just like you would yourself, with items and gear, and these would then give some cosmetic, and some minor Chocobo related stat increases. Like Choco armour, of some sort... Just some minor visual things, that maybe make your choco run a tiny bit faster, last a tiny bit longer.. etc etc.

It would be really cool to have different looking chocobos based on your race as well.... I mean in FFXI they where just bigger or smaller, but still the same ole choco, however actually showing different breeds and changing them based off race much like the ones mentioned in that Link, is an awesome idea.

I wish they could put out Rare/Ex chocos. Fighting a beastman and get a drop of the the rare item.

Different regions could alter the chocos too in certain ways, just like RL birds... With that then you could go to a certain region to get it making you travel more.

i would like ur mount to be based off ur job so if u were more like a dragoon u could ride a dragon and if u were more like a beast master u could ride a sheep. but honestly i don't see chocobos being mounts this time around i think they will probably use them more as a cargo carrying chocobo that carrys ur supplies or that's what it looked like from the main screen for FFXIV.

You know you can change your class whenever you want to, right? Would your mount change too?
