Here's a link to IGN's coverage of the event: IGN Playstation Coverage
There is no pricing revealed yet, but Sony did say it will be released Holiday 2013.
Something I think is worth noting: It's not weird for them not to reveal pricing yet. This was an announcement. Sony wants to keep it positive, and pricing is never really a positive subject lol.
MY main takeaway from the conference is that it seems Sony is finally taking these things seriously again instead acting like it's all a big joke like they and MS have done the past few E3's. They're finally focusing on what we really care about: the games. It seems to me that Sony is really pushing the social side of gaming as the main inspiration behind the UI. They even put a button specifically for sharing on the controller lol.
Some things I liked the most:
The social aspect of the UI. I love the idea of being able to watch my friends play a game as they are playing it. The idea that your friend can take over your game if you need help with a hard part is pretty neat too(However my pride would never allow me to do that lol). I'm really interested to see if we will be able to instantly upload videos we recorded to YouTube. Granted this is just a hope though since there is no guarantee that there will be YouTube integration.
Also gotta love the Watch Dogs demo. Another PS exclusive that may eventually make me give in.
It's nice that the dual shock 4 still looks like a dual shock controller. I'm interested to see how that touch pad will be utilized.
I think I like the eventual backwards compatibility via Gaikai streaming, but I need more info.
Capcom's new IP looks interesting and very Dark Souls-like.
Things I didn't like:
Oh my goodness SE was so disappointing. They show off last year's tech demo and then say "Be excited for E3!" -_-
Would have liked to at least see what the console will look like.
It's too early for me to tell if I'll get a PS4 eventually or not. PlayStation does have some exclusives that are attracting me. Highly unlikely I will get it or the xbox day one. I am interested to see what Microsoft comes up with when they reveal the next xbox. E3 will definitely be exciting this year no doubt.
Give me your thoughts.
