is any 1 still playing XI because i remmember like it was either last year or the year before the total population of the server i was on was around 200 odd people (mostly the who afk near mog and AH) and if i remmember there was supposed to be a new addon for it comming out (not sure if it is out yet or not) but dont know if theres any 1 playing it anymore. im also asking if any 1 plays because i just found out (after not keeping up with the latest on XIV) that the servers were shutdown and that they are now trying to completely redo it and was wondering if people flocked back to XI or not. i also know that you can now sign up for the beta of a relm reborn which means it cant be too far from being completed.

I can't speak for other servers but Bahamut has had 3500+ on for the few night that I've been able to look.

My brother just made his return to FFXI after being absent since the start of Chains of Promethia. Needless to say, him asking for a party in Zalkrum Dunes were met with eerie silence. Likely because no one does dunes anymore from what I understand.

I've thought about coming back to XI for a bit, but the thought of having to grind from the start again, unlocking the subjob in the now fairly vacant dunes, and other factors have kept me from doing so.

I still play on Bahamut and there is no shortage of players there. I've never had problems finding an LS either.

The reason no one does dunes any more is because it takes too long. I myself enjoy old school partying but there's not many of us out there.
You can level from 30-99 (with all limit breaks done) in Abbysea in just about a day. I don't have the Abby add on since that's not fun for me. But even with out Abby the book burning Alliances help you level so fast now. You can go from 10 to 30 in a couple hours in Gusgen Mines. And getting the sub job items is so easy no since the skulls drop in Gusgen where the Alliance is and the other two are cinch to get.

Anyway, my point is Bahamut is still very much populated as Jackel can attest to and with the SoA expansion coming soon I'm sure there will be a boost to the servers. I wouldn't worry about that when deciding to play the game again or not.

Well, my brother has an extra ultimate edition key I could use. Maybe I'll reroll over on Asura with him. My old character is long since gone along with my original play online account unfortunately.

I shut my account down in July of 12 and I'll tell you there still was a good amount of people playing and I'm sure with the new expansion coming out soon that it will grow a bit.

Been thinking about going back to Asura also, can't seem to keep it out of my mind lately lol. Damn sure i am missing FFXI's magic.
