No mention of PS3 beta? I assume this is just the PC beta to run?


Either way, really hope I get into the beta, really really looking forward to this game and want to try help as much as I can with the bug testing and such

ps3 beta is already in the roadmap.

So they still don't have enough testers? I got my app in some time ago but I thought Phase 1 was for those who bought the game in 2010? am I wrong? I hope because I sure would like to get in testing :p

Actually, it's more like a first come first serve for the Legacy members (those who bought at least 3 months worth of subscription to FFXIV 1.0). I'm beginning to wonder if I shouldn't send a help ticket to SE about that. I actually bought 3 months worth of Crysta to play FFXIV when it first launched, but my computer was fried during the time period that they went p2p so I decided to hold on to it until it goes live again. I still have that Crysta, but I didn't put it towards FFXIV in time to get Legacy...so I wonder if they'd make a special case.

Even so, you'll get in at some point thomaskorak, they're doing the Beta in phases as usual, meaning that at some point down the road there will be an Open Beta for you to try out.

I mean yeah I played it before on 1.0 but I was hoping to play the beta..
should I not get my hopes up to play phase 1?

Oh we all have our hopes up for sure, I'm looking forward to seeing the key in my email address (positive reinforcement) and you may be one lucky winner and get in, but there's thousands of people out there hoping to get into phase 1 as well. Truthfully, most of the time in a Beta or Alpha is not spent playing the game. Most of the time is spent reporting/dealing with bugs and trying to break the game. You'll play it for sure around April/May if I had to guess when phase 3 will begin. But only a select few will play Phase 1 and 2. That's why I was wishing I had Legacy, cause I'd love to spend my ample time debugging the futu- I mean A Realm Reborn.

I can wait for phase 3. By then there will be more content to test and the game will be more polished. Maybe I won't even test it at all though. Giving them input is nice, but I can't help but feel that the majority of input is ignored or can't be addressed...plus there's something awesome about sitting down and playing a new game at release without already knowing everything about it.

From what I understand, feedback from the Alpha testing for ARR was acknowledged much more than during the original alpha testing. So I'd give as much feedback as possible to help make the game better if you see something you feel should be changed, especially if the majority seem to agree with it.

Eh I'm going to hope that the fanbase knows what's up and leaves all the right feedback. It's essay season and I feel like I'll be pleasantly surprised at launch
Worst case they still didn't have enough time and make it awesome with a year of updates/the first expansion. Only time.
