Hello everyone! Pinurabi here.

As you will have guessed from the title of this post, I'm writing from sunny LA, far away from the ironfisted rule of Fernehalwes.

What's that, you say? Wasn't I supposed to be locked up in a utility closet, under constant guard by tonberry turnkeys? Well, that's precisely what Fernehalwes thought until he discovered, to his woe, that someone had taken his place on the plane to LA. I am so smart! S-M-R-T! Who's King of the Blog now, you pompous ahriman!?

But back to the present! Yoshi-P has embarked on a media tour, accompanied by a band of loyal retainers. Today we sat down with our comrades at Square Enix North America, and ironed out the finer details of the event. Here's a snapshot taken at one of our many meetings:



Next is a photo of (some of) our North American and Japanese Community & Services team members. Such a photogenic bunch! Second from the left, Bayohne looks every bit the door-to-door salesman. Who’s your buddy, eh?



After the first set of meetings had wound down, I went on a self-guided tour of the LA office, and—

But alas, I must away—'tis time for yet another meeting! On the morrow we are off to San Francisco, our first leg on the media tour. We'll do our best to keep everyone posted on late-breaking developments via both the forums and the blog, so stay tuned!

Anyway... hopefully this means we'll get some new info later in the day. Fingers crossed.

That's Rukkirii isn't it? Indeed she's quite charming. She's got a cool satchel thing too. Something you would see on a Final Fantasy character lol.

That is indeed a pretty cool elevator. This is SE in Los Angeles, right? I'd love to get a tour of the headquarters in real life.

I was actually thinking she could probably be the model for a FF character personally >_> The facebook link just validated my idea more because of the more-eccentric-than-normal clothing in some of the pictures.

Other thoughts: I wonder how long it took to paint that elevator door.

Err I'm pretty sure it's a sticker, since its the exact same concept art that was released earlier for the male Miqo'te.

Yes, she is quite the looker, and as for the elevator, it is probably a wrap, like what is put on vehicles when companies want their logo and pertinent company information on it. In any case, it is pretty cool to have an elevator look like that. Let's just hope the game succeeds so it can stay there. >.>

I always wondered what Taarna did for a day job. Such a sense of style, too.

I don't know why, but seeing that elevator makes me hope that FFXIV ARR is insanely successful for SE. It's been great to watch people work so hard to try to make it happen.

Internet, you are weird.

Anyway, I never hear about the North American team of any foreign company, except maybe Aion's but that was for beta and early launch). I can't imagine the HQ here in the states to be huge and flamboyant, secondary game development studios are often small rented buildings, not company constructed. Feel free to prove me wrong Square Enix North America Team .

Still looking forward to this game, hoping to meet many colorful and fun people

When the FF prelude theme plays (Aura, Ignis, Terra, Aqua with the scales) I'd feel like I was on a stairway to heaven

Reinheart, who does the Japanese translations on the Lodestone forums, went there to apply for a job once and said it was a really nice looking building. I don't know whether SE had it built, or like you said they're just renting something existing, but it seems like it's not something that looks like a fly-by-night operation.

Imagine what I did all day but actually get paid....

and have my "bosses" get back with me more often than once every 8 weeks...

From what I read, this is nothing compared to the adulation she's getting on the JP forums. Asking for her hair color & style in-game, and even wanting her to appear with Yoshida on the Live Letter. Even this lunchtime tweet today from Foxclon ("Morbol").

Oh, and it's a rented venue in SoMa. (It's been nearly 5 years since I was in SF & LA. Really missing CA atm.)
