Yeah, I'm sure it's the dualshock 3. :th_102_: I also figured the possibility of him having a picture in his hands (like all the other videos) or the Vita (although pretty unlikely at this point). I guess I'll have the pc version for free when it releases, but I'm not sure if I would drop 60 dollars on the PS3 version. Maybe if I fall in love with the game I'll pick up a ps3 copy when it's down to $30 or something.

Is ninja confirmed? I know he talked about possibilities for dark knight and marauder and all that, but didn't he say we wouldn't see them until the first expansion? I'd really like to see ninja and red mage and I know it's a bit generic but I'd like to see thief (running fast, stealing, and doing special attacks from behind never get tiring). I would also like to see a greater emphasis on jobs than classes. It's seemed like a design flaw from the beginning to have classes that can be almost the same while making jobs just a title, AF, and a few abilities. Plus, it will just be silly if new classes keep getting introduced for new jobs (ex. arcanist). I could see the game having 20-30 classes and a similar amount of jobs in 10 years and all of those names would just get cumbersome. Limiting classes by weapon-type is also a problem (ex. there's daggers in the game but that would be a thief exclusive weapon unless they called them dirks for the new class). Sorry about the rant.

Oh man, sam too would be sweet. I still don't see the jobs being implemented for at least a year after release, but I'm glad they're on the way. Here's hoping for more magic jobs after summoner.

I wonder how hard it will be to get Excalibur this time...
It would be awesome if they got their own awesome weapon skills ala XI.

Now granted these aren't the actual relic weapon skills in XI, they're npcs' unique weapons skills, but I thought they looked way better than the former lol.

We need something like this in XIV, but with possibly a little more pizazz. Maybe that's where limit breaks come in. Would be cool to have special limit breaks for relic weapons in XIV. Agh we need more info on limit breaks!

People also need to realize that a lot of this stuff in XI wasn't in until years later.

I think one of the unfair situations XIV is going to be put in after XI and a 2 year post-launch turnaround is quality content based on previous "Versions". I'd love to see a ton of things from the get go but I understand that only so much can be put in at a time.

While I'd love some cosmetic things that are flashy and the likes - I think somewhat restricted content might act as a great hook to some players. Unlike in XI where the content was originally level capped, ARR is coming to the masses with a large portion of the players already having reached "The cap". So while things comparable to Promyvions (or CoP in general) sound fantastic -- it seems like a hard thing to balance.

I don't want to say that I feel bad for those players who took all the different builds up to level cap but I can't help but wonder if the amount of enjoyment they'll get from ARR will be vastly reduced when compared to others who are new and/or starting over. Level sync is great and all but experiencing content in it's original form can't be replicated completely.

Now I know this is a forum, and people can get pretty derpy and all... either that or reading = over-achieving, but I think the easy way to FIGURE OUT WHAT HE'S HOLDING is by...

wait for this stroke of real genius...

wait...

using said "PICTURE BELOW"

I'd venture a guess that it's concept art for chocobo raising equipment / maybe achievements from chocobo raising (chocobo "apron" and mask in the pic)

However, it could even be a combination, Yoshi P holds a vita and is playing it, while he is getting his bruh to hold onto his concept art for him for a bit.

Sorry for sounding like an ass I just hate it when people don't read... this is how random retarded speculation starts. Someone had to say it.

You do sound like an ass....

He's holding something in his hand.. that doesn't have anything to do with Chocobo's as it's the controller style UI that's being displayed. You even put the quote in place;

As a trade-off, though, you don't get to see the object that Yoshi-P is holding in his hands. What in seven hells is it, you ask? You'll have to figure it out from the photo below!

What the forums do NOT need is your obvious lack of integrity when posting - it looked more like something you'd find on the Lodestone than something here.

Who cares if people are speculating? That's the entire point right now. Coming around and posting in the manner you did was just silly and ignorant.

I have to agree with Jackel that was rude.
I don't understand why so many are guessing PS Vita? What is leading people to believe he is holding a PS Vita?

I'm with you Kenshin. Almost nothing so far has led me to even think they were using PS vita as a controller. It would be a very nice addition yes, but that was really out of the blue lol.

Another thing I notice in the screenshot is the redundant party list when playing solo has been removed. In some of the other screenshots/videos when people were playing solo, there was a separate section with health bars making it painfully obvious that you were playing solo. Hopefully they made the party bar only show up after you have 2 or more in a party.

Actually, I didn't notice that it was gone. Nice find, because I'm really hoping that it doesn't do that. I've always hated wasted screen real estate and having my health in two places seems kind of silly (when solo anyway).

Yeah, it is very unlikely that it is the Vita lol. I still think it being the ps3 controller isn't very surprising though. People are getting all stoked, but they've been prepping the ps3 version for a long time and I never expected them to back out on their promise of releasing it this spring. I would be more excited to see more on the whole chocobo raising front to be honest.

Hello everyone!

Fernehalwes taking a break from putting the final touches on the Beta Version localization to bring you a sneak peek at an atypical Saturday here at Square-Enix headquarters.

Yesterday, Yoshi-P asked several members from the development team to come in on the weekend to help create a video that would be shown on his coming worldwide trip. Here’s a shot of our multi-talented producer in the control seat displaying his 1337 skillz (he made me write that…okay, maybe he didn't make me write that). I know it’s kind of hard to tell what is being filmed, but if you take a closer gander at the left-hand side of the pic, you’ll find something that may be of interest…

Posted Image

And, to thank us for coming in on our day off, Yoshi-P dusted the cobwebs off the old wallet, and sprung for...wait for it...pizza! Which, knowing how much Japanese pizza costs, probably ran him about a half-month’s salary (okay, okay, that was another slight exaggeration…it was probably closer to three-weeks’ salary).

Posted Image

Potato, corn, tuna, and mayonnaise. Mmm… My favorite! And by “favorite,” I mean “pass the pepperoni.”

Oh, and here’s a shot of the lovable Komoto-san finishing off his sixth pie. All that devving can really work up an appetite!

Talk to you all again soon...from the other side of the world!

I agree that this looks very much to be the PS3 version.
I hope they'll announce finally too the release of the benchmark tool.
