Welcome to the Core! I guess it goes without saying that I'm anxiously awaiting the game as well. This is a great place to catch official news and updates, along with developer interviews from various other sites. I'm sure as we get closer to release (whenever that is) we'll see more and more activity here.
I take it you didn't play 1.0. Either that or you are having a real rough go of it trying to remember that it's not Mithra, but Miqo'te. Guess I have a bit of an advantage with the naming of the races since I didn't play FFXI for too too long. So the FFXIV names are easy to remember for me :P
But if my guess is right, be sure to check out the pinned threads in the General Discussion they'll both be really helpful for you. Be seeing you!

The good news for you is pretty much everyone I met in game calls the races by their XI counterparts. Welcome to the core.

Haha. To be truthful I'm just being silly about it. I've had several+ years of sitting on the sidelines, reading every minute scrap of info in regards to the long awaited ps3 release. I'm actually quite fond of the new name ^.^
