I've been getting the most responses here so for that i thank all of you! These should be the last of my questions.
1. I was able to run FFXIV with the comp that my cousin built me on mid to high settings(not much of a computer person so im not going to bother posting my specs)and it ran fine. I was told that A realm Reborn would require less than FXIV. Is there any truth to this or should i improve my comp?
2. Would my character remain a Lv 43 Mrd?
3. Would i keep all my items? Would anything happen to my Kokoroon Darkshell mail? lol
Thanks for your time.

- ARR will require less than the original FFXIV because it is being built on a much more optimized engine. The original FFXIV used the Crystal Tools engine, which was absolutely god awful. If you ran on mid to high settings, you'll most likely be able to run on high settings no problem here. I can't really give specifics seeing as we don't have your specs or the games benchmarks, but a benchmark program is on the way in the near future.
- Yes, you'll keep all the levels you previously had, with the exception of Physical level. That was removed.
- You'll keep all the items you previously had, but some items, such as Dated items, are becoming obsolete and will no longer be able to be created (you can still keep the ones you have though, if I remember correctly).

I'd like to add that while the game will require less in regards to hardware to operate it doesn't mean it will technically perform better given the same hardware.
Currently there are many more customization options from within the game that allow you to control many more of the problem child aspects that plagued 1.x. It doesn't however mean that your machine that ran 1.x at a certain frame rate will all of a sudden go well beyond that in similar settings.
The overall goal is to get it to that point but in all of the videos we've seen Yoshi has stressed that much of the content still isn't there. The game isn't rendering most animations which it will need to do for all the characters as well as roaming NPC's with dialog.
Just some things to keep in mind.
