Watching the new videos...what happened to animations?

The walking animations seem less realistic, and less fluid...

Before your character had actual weight and didn't instantly stop.

Same with sword strikes...I thought they'd just re-use alot of the old ones...the new ones seem cheap and not as good...at least in the videos they've shown...

They look more generic.

They show a guy running around town and when he stops pressing the movement key, he just stops like he's glued in place.

While in 1.0, you'd see the natural deceleration and it was one of my favorite things about it.

Which videos are you watching in which they show sword-based combat?

Also, all I can really offer is that you're basing all of this on the initial phase (of four) for the alpha. The beta isn't scheduled for another 2-3 months. If people are expecting a finished product to roll off the line this early then I'm not sure what to say except to reference back to the original launch. People weren't thrilled with how quick the beta was before hitting retail and SE paid the price.
