Hi, very new here but happy I found you all.

I haven't played FF since FFVII. I used to play WoW but found it very childish.

I'm definitely going to be hooked on FFXIV and would like to know what sorts of hardware could give me an edge or ease with this game. Thanks in advance.

I had in mind ps3. Was wondering more about that. If I was serious about playing this game would one say to get for PC? Would PC and PS3 gamers intermingle?

I'm not sure if there is going to be voice communication provided through the game. If there isn't, PC would probably be better for voice during end-game events.

yeah, pretty much all endgame LS's will want you on vent, so getting a decent mic is a must imo

Ive dug around a bit and realized that any USB keyboard can be used on the PS3, so my question is answered.

I guess I should just familiarize myself with what we know of the game and be ready for its release.

I already know I want to be a Miqo'te Tanner.

I'd suggest getting a wireless Keyboard at least and possibly also a wireless mouse to use with your PS3, although I'd say just the keyboard would be 'necessary', if FFXI's control scheme is any indication of what's to come.

Yes any will work but ones with special macro functions may not work. Welcome to the core buddy stay active and enjoy the wait with us!

Why wireless? For mouse sure but keyboard? I guess if your PS3 is a long ways from your chair or something but unless the cord length is a problem I've never really gotten the point of wireless keyboards.

I myself will be playing on PS3 however i doubt ill be getting a wireless keyboard.

I do know that These work fine with the PS3, well mine did untill i lost the dongle lol :(
Ill be buying one of these closer to the time, it aprantly has a touch pad feature...enable it and the entire surface becomes one, diable it again to access the keyboard, i did hear its not the best feature tho for using a mouse via PS3.

Most keyboard cords are 5 feet long or less. How close you lookin' to sit?

The kind with the USB wand should work fine.
