Just did the r45 one.

Damn, they made it challenging. Wiped massively on the Ogre boss. Not the end boss, and we only had 4 mins left too, so we would have run out of time.

Good times.

Just did one 25lvl dungeon and this impressed me a bit, because every dungeon you enter, you'll see few cutsenses with your party members, not yourself alone. And every final boss dies, your party members and you go "victory" like old FF series..

EDIT
SPOILER!! New NPC character in Limsa Lominsa

"Each instanced raid area has a limit on how many parties can enter at once."

Patch looked good until that point. Really SE? Really? Do you EVER learn?!

This is natural, and every game has a "limit".

They didn't say how many, so I guess we'll learn what the limit is at some point, but this is good because it keeps the server free'd up to focus on the players in the dungeon and doesn't get bogged down with lag.

Just like to say that there were a ton of groups going in and out of the dungeon last night, and this was never a problem, nor for anyone else there at that matter.

I love the update so far. The dungeons are hard, exciting, and well innovative. I feel much potential from Companies and how it is setup. I was a bit disappointed that it doesn't expand much beyond recruitment quests, but SE already told us this is how it would be till 1.19. So I will enjoy the dungeons for now and get myself prepared for content in 1.19. :)

As for the battle system, while there are some tweaks needed here and there, I love it! Its basic, easy to use, and I like that the icons are bigger. I find it funny I slide when I disengage while moving, but dev's are already aware of this and putting better animations in 1.19.

As a tank, I found it easier to hold hate and balance out DPS when fighting groups of enemies. I am glad some balancing happened in the game. GLA now the best choice for tanking again, THM is no longer OP and now a debuffer and DoT type class, CON is the best choice in healing, and Archer is no longer OP and in balance with other classes. While the class balances are not 100% there and will probably need more tweaking, I am glad we can't just go in there and nuke and multishot everything in a few seconds. I like strategy in my MMO's and this balance has helped bring some of that out.

Overall, I feel like this is what the base of the game should have been. Now that the foundation has been put in place, I can only see this game getting better and better as the months go by. So I approve of this update and it has given me hope that this game will get back into the green soon.

Thanks for that comment Velhart I have not seen much other than a few sentences of what people think. Massively people are just trolling or defending and not adding anything that tells me whats going on. I wont get a chance to play until this evening or tomorrow, I am just glad I got the patch downloaded last night, which was quick to my surprise.
Sea Wolf Roegadyn Marious Argoz. Lancer 35, THM 27, Conj 23, H2H 15, Axe 14, GS 21, Alch 23.

I have to say that I have really enjoyed everything this patch has to offer. I really enjoy the companies and can't wait for them to expand on that idea more. :)

I think you'll enjoy yourself. They've added a lot of stuff, so enjoy. :)

It's nice actually having the time to read what ability does what and to finally be able to make use of some of those situational attacks more effectively. The transition to dark matter from the old repair system seems a bit problematic, however. Wearing R30ish gear that takes rank 4 dark matter to repair while still R17 because no one sells any R20ish gear on my server.

Anyone know how we get dark matter effectively outside of doing leves?

NPC's sell them and can get them with guild points.

Anyone figure out the new possible best method of exping yet? (either solo or group)

I haven't had a chance to do a dungeon yet or play much after the patch but my friends telling me leves and behest are horrid now... wondering if we're meant to get the best exp through dungeons or something.

Also I'm not sure I like the new mana costs, are giving mobs a billion HP and making your MP pool vanish quicker truly the best ways to increase difficulty??? Hopefully this is just groundwork and refreshing or something comes along with the job system. I was not one who pushed for "increased difficulty" but for those that did, is this what you really wanted?

It unpacks to around 1.4 gigs, but yeah, that's the download size.

From my few minutes of playing the game, I think Yoshi-P might be trying to turn this game into FFXI unintentionally. The soloing of the world monsters is actually pretty tough now even with class abilities, and the comment about leves being near worthless isn't far from the truth. If this is the new direction the FFXIV team is taking, they need to really pay close attention to the forums because they might have just generated more problems then they fixed.

A party of my Ls mates made a 6 person party of people from level 36-41 and went down to grind at the Ixilia camp near Halitali. We were making an easy 305-335 xp per kill. The new beastmen camps are great spots to level.

Had any luck? I got that message when I logged on from a different internet connection. That's probably at least one of the things that sets it off, an IP change. But I was able to log in right after I reset my password.

Sure beats 100 a mob. Game still has a ways to go before I start playing again.
