I am rank 12 THM and 10 gold, 10 weaver, 10 alchemy and 5 leather crafter.. I havent played a ton as you can see.. however all I am doing is levequests. The crafting leves and the battlecraft leves. Now I havent even been in a group yet because 1.) I dont have too join a group and 2.) most people that are trying to group seem to be higher ranks.

As of now I don't hate the game but its not really fun and in a way a bit demoralizing because what I am doing right now i will have to keep on doing all the way to rank 50? Am I missing something here? Is there more to this game than boring repetitive leve quests and or aimless grinding which is painful to do in this game? I am not trying to troll, does anyone know if SE has intentions of adding ways to make grouping more rewarding and fun? Like maybe going into a dungeon or something? I am so utterly disgusted with the lack of things to do.

theres not much to do at the minute other than what you said, no.

I don't mind though, ffxi was pretty much all grinding and I enjoyed it.

I'm confident more stuff will come in a while, and I want to be high enough to enjoy it when it does.

do the story line? have fun killing things? Idk start another character.. my first character didn't seem very fun so I started a new one. Use your imagination and theme your character, or pretend you are someone like a knight on a mission idk just have fun with life. Take breaks, go for walks, eat, and have lots of sex with your wife if you are married. Get friends and family involved. Meet people. Life is full of fun and you can revolve friendships and relationships around the game not to say the game is your life but itll give you something to talk about. !!! GL and have fun! :th_020_bingo: :th_070_goodjob:

You might want to consider leaving friends and family out of at least one of those things. Things get complicated.

Dude.. I am strictly talking about the game bro. Lets try to stay on the topic and stop trying to give me advice about life because I probably have 10 years of experience on you. I guess your trying to be funny and at the same time assuming that I am spending 4 hours or more on the game a day ( which isnt the case). What bothers me is the fact that I have seen and experienced the core game and I am not having fun with it. And whats worse is that there isnt much else to do with the game. Now you can say go away ... and I would except the fact I spent 80 bucks on the CE... I hate wasting money. To me its mind boggling that they developed the game this way. I loved FF XI, I loved grinding it out with party members.. This grind seems aimless and there isn't anything to build towards.. I know it sounds like I am bitching.. and I am, but I just can't help it grrr. Sorry for the negativity.

The grind is about the same as ffxi, in that game we grinded looking forward to new gear, abilities and spell, new areas, and endgame.

3 of those 4 things are present here, the 4th one if you played ffxi know that amount of content they add over time so that one as well be added eventually.

while it is true there is no endgame we all have quite awhile before we would be ready for it anyways. As long as they add content like in ffxi it should be here before we(the majority) hit cap or slightly after.

You can do faction leves where you fight up to and kill notorious monsters/enemies. You could do behests. You could do the rank 15 story quest and unlock the diplomacy system then do that.

But yes, the bulk of the game is leveling up multiple jobs in adventuring, crafting, fishing, gathering, and doing story quests/named fights/etc. in between. It is an MMO.

Find a linkshell. Games like these, especially this one, are based on communities. I can guarantee you will have no fun if you solo everything and are anti-social.

Yea bud it is an MMO. Its a very convoluted MMO with a lack of content and choice. With game breaking qualities to the core game. Well i did cancel my sub for now at least. pains me a little to do so.

Here's a question for those that have played FFXI. I keep hearing the grind is similar between that and XIV. What I want to know is, were there dungeons with boss type mobs, NMs, and other mobs that encouraged grinding by dropping good gear?

I never played XI so I don't know, but that is one of my current beefs with XIV. I don't feel encouraged to grind because mobs only drop raw material type loot that either 1) takes forever to NPC or 2) can't sell fast enough on my retainer, so I end up vendoring anyway.

Equally baffling is that gear has always been a main motivator of mine to level, but in this game you don't even need to level up to wear gear. Usually in other games I would get a cool chestpiece off a dungeon boss or something with great stats but a level 25 requirement. This makes me want to level to 25 to wear it, but here, I can just wear it straight away. This game lacks a motivating factor to hide the tediousness of the grind.

I also regret not rolling a Lalafell because I'm tired of fighting things that only reach my waist. So not epic.

TLDR: Plain and simple you paid to play a very pretty shell of a game that was released at least six months too early.

Game is **** bro, plan and simple.

I guess they think this is 2002 and its okay to release this sad excuse for a game.

I really wanted to like it, but people are just defensive because they don't want to accept that Square dropped the ball.

No quest hubs, a 10 min story..yes i said it, you boot the game watch a story scene with little to no interaction. Then you get the second quest where you do so real easy killing, then the third quest is talking, then the fourth quest is just stand in the back and let the npc kill the guy cause his aoe can one shot you. Those 4 quest take the average player 1-2 weeks to unlock. TERRIBLE STORY QUEST LINE.

No real reason to explore underground dungeons cause there is no boss mobs, no sign of any real instance and with those out of the equation there is no real reason to group.

The lack of global channels make it impossible for people to get help, find groups or even just chat. Don't give me that **** you have no problem that people say because if you are just outside of the shout radius how would you hear peoples LS invites or LFG.

Lack of AH makes market the most annoying time sink i have ever seen in a game. Talk about stunting the economies growth.

Then you have your user to game interface which just makes the game unplayable with clunky character controls, lagging menus, unsortable inventory, broken macro system, etc...

MILES of land that is just unused with place holder mobs that kill you on sight. Meaning they have ideas but felt that no content was the best start point.

People will defend this til they are blue in the face, but this game is worse the SWG release, thats right i said it.

I want to like this game, but there is very little to like. I shouldn't have to wait for a game to fixed, i shouldn't have to wait for them to give me some content, any content.

Yeah i can quit, but i purchased this with the expectation of a working game. There is nothing to do like you say, run around the same 2 camps for weeks or sit in town and craft. Crafting btw is the only real gem in this game fyi.

Sorry for the rant, but you aren't crazy i have my fair share of MMOs since 2000 and i am just speechless sometimes when i think of the state of this game. At least other grindy MMOs have me moving through there lands and not staying in the same place for 3 weeks in the beginning

oh bull.. it's a single player game basically... :P

I think alot of you people are getting a bit out of hand on some of these issues really. It's plain and simple really, if you don't like it enough to be bitchy about it then go play something else and quit trying to make it it is something it is not if it is not in your capabilities. And Idc how many years someone has on me at life cause I know plenty of people 10 20 and 30 years older than me that have no clue what life is even about. If you can't get it through you peoples head that the game is just like any other game just implemented in a socialistic manner then you need to think again. It's not worth trolling the forums just to see how negative you can be.

High server attendance during the free period, however. I think the problems should have been addressed before shipment, or at least some concessions made towards it now, or after a while the servers will never queue up again.

Well there you have it. You don't like the core game.
Like in Aion... I didn't like that the core game was quest and didn't like its end game so I left.
You hate wasting money... can you try to get a refund?
No offense, but when has MMORPG not been about risk... I've bought Aion, Warhammer, both knowing I won't know how it'll be like unless I played it... even with research... and both I returned.

Would you rather have the game be on "life support" regarding contents now or at the end? First one is about principles and standards... latter is something more serious in my opinion.

Whelp, good luck.
