ughhh....Generic Hardcore Merchant Star....>.> I like having the best of the best and I push myself to achieve my goals. I'm not elitist tho...Just anything I do I'm very serious about meeting my goals and needs lots of time sinks. I also like to be in high powered guilds that take on huge challenges. :th_085_:

Was tempted to put storyline as well but, even tho I enjoyed the storyline in FFXI, I feel that the actual community immerses me in the game more so.

Dear lord I'm shallow :th_045_:

Hmm...
I guess I'm The Story-liner, The Adventurer and a bit of the Hard Core Gamer.

Great article you got there. Of course categories are a little caricatural, but that's mostly always the case with categories. Some people do fit perfectly in one tho (loved the Blood one).

I would probably describe myself as a True gamer. In fact, I grew up with mario, zelda, sonic and samus, and I always find myself comming back to those classic from time to time (ok, sonic probably didnt age as nicely as the other 3 :P). I pretty much fall in the MMORPG players you're describing as well, playing more than "casuals" but not as much as "hardcores". I try to enjoy myself, optimize stuff (and not maximize) taking into consideration what I want with the game. But every now and then, I do leave the MMORPG world to come back to some classic plateformers (Super-Metroid being a classic).

I'm a leveler :th_042_:

it's not on the list yet, but who knows... i love to try out all the different classes and all the new skills you get with every level! :th_084_:

that's why whenever i reach max level with one character, i just take another and start the game from the beginning. there wasn't such a thing like endgame for me. My idea of max out everything is to have maxed out every skill, every craft, every job, and then drop it! :th_058_:

I would probably classify myself as a generic/adventure gamer w/ a dash of the storyline gamer mixed in. I enjoy a little of everything, usually exploring and wanting to do the storyline first in a game before focusing upon being well geared. I'm really hoping in FFXIV they make it easier to find parties for the storyline missions; one of the reasons I quit my first time was due to the fact I could never find a group to help me beat Snoll Tzar as a thf (my only lvled job at the time). For a time I actually let my RL use my account and he had made some good friends during that time that had actually helped to pass this mission for me. Later on after getting blu I wanted to go back for some payback for the frustration but everytime I saw a group shout I was doing something else or in a pt. >< 1 of my 2 regrets from FFXI; the other being I never did finish the ToAU storyline...

I'm a True Gamer/Adventurer. Both pretty much sum up what I look for in an MMO and my play habits. I always strive to play whatever Job/Class I'm playing, the best I can, but I know when to put the game down. I also throughly enjoy exploring every environment regradless of how dangerous it is. Items and being in the "Best Guild" mean nothing to me. I'm in it purely for the adventure.

i think im a mix with generic gamer and the story-liner. i cant say i love one genre of games more than the others i can go from FFXI to tony hawk to guitar hero lol. BUT once my friend gave me ffxi oh man i was hooked. I played for a pretty long while (it was my first mmorpg) and i did have times where i got bored but story lines always got me hooked again. SO i really cant say im one specific person when it comes to gaming

Hm..I'd say I would fit into a mix of the Merchant, Adventurer, and Story-liner. Less so on the story for mmo's, rather use it as pass time exploring and enjoying the world while going about business through services and crafting. But those three fit me overall.

This looks very similar to the "What Type of MMO'er are you?" poll *suspicious glare* Haha.

Here, I believe I fall under the generic gamer, despite hurdles like a social life, bar nights, and lady friends. I'll also admit a bit hard-core in there. I like end-game content and I usually just can't count on casual guilds to be up for the challenge or even around for it.

Don't forget the fashionista category! :D

Aye, the categories are more or less light hearted jabbing at gamer stereotypes. People and personalities are too complex to so easily categorize, hehe.

I'm more of a Generic/Adventurer/Storyliner myself.

Ive always played a thief, or rogue class and have always enjoyed PvP - and have to admit that I am in love with being a griefer. Well that's what we used to call guys like me. In asheron's call and DAOC I always loved killing people after they shopped, or in DAoC following raid groups all the way down to the bottom of darkness falls(a raid dungeon) and killing their healer, and then the other members as they fought the boss or another monster.

Or sometimes playing in an Anti-player killer guild was fun too. PvP is just so much fun.

The good ole days of pvp games, i remember hearing "Im going to get my main" as they log out. Hilarious.

It was mean, but it was satisfying because it was my roleplay mentality. I liked being a sort of outlaw :P But in FFXI i couldnt do any of that and still had a similar amount of fun. Although MPKing the RMT was fun with flee, train a bunch of gobs then use hide. FFXI's pvp sucked, to be honest... it was SOOOOOO unbalanced.

So essentially I am a hardcore-generic-blood raging-adventurer!

Honestly, though... we all had to deal with griefers on pvp servers, its just part of the server. I dont remember anyone seeking out lower levels and only killing lower levels, except when youre bored. I used to hang out at start points for lower level chars with my main logged out behind a bush nearby. If someone came by to kill the higher ups id log in and have the jump on them. PvPing is just a whole different level of strategy with a whole different plethora of rewards. I always loved killing greifers, as much as i loved being one.

I can tell you're a storyliner Gmoyajp because you have Lion in your sig :D

I'm also a storyliner, as I got attached to the characters and had a hard time dealing with the sacrifice of certain ones in the ffxi storyline. But not everyone here has finished the Zilart storyline, so please don't point out what I may be alluding to.

My favorite part about reading or playing through stories is guessing what will happen.

I'm a bit of an Adventurer, Generic/True Gamer, and Story-liner.

I like to get the best of an item, but it won't kill me if I don't. Am not hardcore enough to truly care, nor do I wish to invest so much (pointless) time into it either...this I'm mostly pointing towards MMOs. RPGs and hand-held games are a little different...depends if I have the motivation/determination to get em'. And exploring...! This is something I like to do in almost everything I play...really opens up my eyes to the many environments of a game. ^_^
