Thanks guys for the great translation!
Interesting that they mentioned that a lancer will be able to bludgeon and stab with their weapon. I wonder if there are going to be weapon resistances such as blunt or piercing and you'll have to have a mix of weapon skills just in case.

Thank you so much for the translation and images! This is really wonderful information, especially in regards to crafting. I'm really looking forward to it.

By the looks of it, I'll probably do weaving or alchemy. Hopefully I can create some really nice looking clothes...and people are going to need potions.

Seeing all of the pictures of the Miqo'te really makes me want to consider being one instead of a Hyur. I guess I'll have to wait for more information!

I got a notice of the official site update last night, but decided to go to bed instead of checking it out (trying not to get too addicted before the game is even released!). Unfortunately, my computer at work has trouble displaying the official website so I would have had to wait for 8 torturous hours before I could get home and read the information.

But thanks to FFXIVCore I was able to get it now! Thanks so much, you did a great job. This is definitely my favorite website for FFXIV information! :th_070_goodjob:

Awesome work yet again Steve Manly, Aya and Zyuu... and thanks a lot for the excellent translation and HD images. The clear layout of this new info here has just inspired me to go update my blog and direct all readers to come directly here to get their latest ffxiv-related fixes.

That said, I must claim dibs (yet again) on those blacksmithing googles... and silvery-greyish blacksmithing gear...and the blacksmithing anvil thingy... we'll take the gloves too while we're at it. Then it's on to Alchemy so I can have that robe.

Yes, Elezen Lancer-Blacksmithing-Alchemist at your service... all FFXIVCore members get their crafting free; other than that, it's 25k gil per synthesis. Please don't gimme that look... I'm saving up for a Magitek.

this news is very exciting to hear!!!!!!!

BUT !!! where are all the questions that MATTER!? like how would characters start off? how would one go about choosing a class? would they give a weapon to start off with? do you get to choose which weapon you want kinda in like ffxi where you could pick your "job" since there isnt anything like dat here how would one go about choosing a class at the start? :th_006_:

other than that im very excited bout the lancer class hope they pay it more attention than that other job *cough* dragoon *cough* :th_051_:

Did anybody else notice we can have spaces in-between our names now? Is this what SE was talking about surnames?

Maybe I assumed too much early on, but I already figured there would be cross-discipline switching, it just makes sense to me. They talked early on about a solo player killing a mob (I can't remember if they stated it was a disc of war class or not) and then switching to healing themselves (in a disc of magic class).

Anyway, I've heard the crafting-on-the-snowy-summit-of-the-mountain-while-the-heavens-are-aligned kind of crafting take before which never panned out to be like that (in the trash MMO Dark and Light), so I'm not going to get carried away with the possible complexities of it before I see it in-game.

The in-game screenshot looks amazing, being able to see what the person is crafting really interests me; i can't wait to see people everywhere crafting weapons and cooking food while i'm fighting away. I'm getting the feeling that i won't be able to stick to one or two different jobs, i'm gonna have to try them all^^ thank you for the great translation and the updated ffxiv site is a great read.

That's what I'm thinking, I've never had much of an interest but it's definitely making me want to try it out since they are working hard on making it a main part of the game, not just something you do to help progress other things in the game like levels and gear lol

Great news and translation!
Seems like it´s going to be a great game, like all FFs are.

Hope they keep up the good work and ain´t making it too casual, so the community will also stay as great as used by FFXI.

Time passes and I'm more interested on Crafter classes more specifically on Weaver... I'm also planning to be a Mage as my main class however the only thing I'm afraid of would be RTM/gill-sellers... are these going to be here again to ruin the economy -_- ? or it has been confirmed they won't invade us this time ? I might give it a try as a crafter class as long the economy is free of RTM.

I'm becoming more and more interested in Weaver as I read new bits of information. My plan of focusing on Pugilist may be thrown on the back burner if the crafting classes end up sounding any better! :th_017_:

There will still be RMT. Hopefully this time S/E gives itself more power to root out/ destroy them.
