Don't forget all the technology elements. It'll be hard to be completely Monster Hunterish with magitek armor-likes around haha.

Monster Hunter had tech like bowguns and explosives :p, but I know what you mean. It would take a hell of a lot of machalite ore and thunderbugs to craft some magitek lol :p.

Just one little thing I've noticed since this thread has been updated, I understand and support the site's move to tag images with the site's logo, but could you keep it at a minimum and make it small enough such that it doesn't obstruct the subject? That'd be great, thanks.

Great job Steve and Aya, I realhy like the translations. Dont worry about official site info, you did a great job. :P

Quote

* Q. Will lancers be able to switch between their regular spears and throwing weapons?
* A. That’s what we’re planning, but it won’t be like switching. It would be more like in FFXI, where you would have a main weapon and a ranged weapon. Throwing weapon variation will differ by class.

Chaching! I knew this would happend! :P Had this felling.

Yeah, when you get to that part it will be awesome.

It like a watermark, if somebody comes here and takes it, and say A: Hey you stole my work! B:I did not! Where it says it is your work. A: Well look at them, they are alike. B: No they aren't.
Sometimes happend.

If you need the subject for something it would be nicer to ask Steve or Zyuu for it.
This is more for a protection than hiding the subject. You can see it anyway. What is it.

Also I can tell you that those are the minimun, because you can take of some stuff.
But like a said, try sending a MSG or a Email to Zyuu or Steve or other Staff for those images.

Anyway, "A Day in the Life of a Chef", looks interesting.

Oh wow, lots of nice information there, thanks for the translation! Feeling I get with this, and one of the reasons I'm really looking forward to it is that although it is an MMO, they haven't forgotten the whole RPG side of things being more than just statistics, it has more 'life' to it. Even just the way they mention that you'll hunt animals for food and materials and such, it makes it feel more like a 'world' than a bunch of areas with points of interest - and this is without even seeing any environments.

*Edit* I know that you hunt animals and such in other games for materials and things, but it never seems to be the 'reason' to do so, more just you have to, if that makes sense.

@ Varun - Thats the "life" in the game. I'm felling the same. You realhy have a story behind the hunting, that is explain in the "A Day in the Life of a Chef", you buy the items from a hunter and make the goodies.(like you said you see this in the other MMO, but FFXIV has something diferent) I'm realhy looking forward to see try it out! XD

.: Can't take the right words of my mouth.

AWESOME TRANSLATION again Steve and Aya!~

A lot of info to go over here. I am super interested in the fact that it appears you can cross Discipline yourself (when they mention that you can go out and kill as a Lancer, switch weapon to a hammer and repair your weapon.)

What excited me the most was that Recipes will be given to you, but you will need to REFINE them. They'll tell you what's in the recipe, but it's up to you to figure out how much of what ingredients to put in to make the recipe 'perfect' (of course only a matter of time before a 'perfect' guide is made, but meh should still be fun.

I like that we're seeing more "opponent-worthy" mobs (not seeing crabs yet...)

Another VERY interesting note would be that crafting will sometimes rely upon your surroundings (natural phenomena, etc.) This adds a depth that I think MANY of us will like. Want to craft The Sword of a Thousand Truths? Gotta do it at the Sacred Altar of Gul'Thisan while it is stormy/lightning weather out.

VERY excited about all of this info and the armor, if it appears in game as such with all that amazing detail will be fantastic.

I am not disappointed yet in the crafting information revealed thus far. I will be disappointed if it is just click a button, walk away and afk.. I hate those systems!

Thank you for the translation. A bit more revealed is better than no reveal at all!

Awesome new information! Except I'm a little disappointed with how alchemists look like regular generic wizards. Couldn't have there been a more interesting wardrobe SE?

They also didn't see my alchemist gun proposal. Damn, looks like alchemist is crafter class and no battle properties whatsoever.

Aside from that, the new flow of information is excellent.

im exited, but not as much, as i stated in some of the topics on this website

changing discipline is cool, but again, the scenario would go like this:

Player 1 want to have a life in FFXIV only as a Black Smith, and hope to really Role Playing the BS class ( or Chef, or Tanner or Gatherer )

then he joins into a battle wanting to help the party's as repairmen only! because he/she loved the role and would even be a BS in a battle ( something like that )

but he/she was not needed, because the Archer, Lancer, Mage, Gladiator, can switch into hammer and repair their own stuffs..

so again, it will kinda disappoint some user that wanting to only specialized in 1 class and not others

other than that, cant wait to get my hands on FFXIV :th_086_64color:

I was a little disappointed that I couldn't get the information to you the fastest, since it was up on the site first. I've been looking forward to this new information for so long, only to have the official site beat us to the punch! :th_015_orz:

With official site updates, who needs translators? :th_038_jolin:

Honestly, I feel like I got a lot more out of reading *both* your translation and the official site info than I would have from the site info alone. You had a lot of tidbits and specifics in there that did not get otherwise communicated.

So great job, and thank you! :D

I never tire of the updates, even when the news in them is simple, like this. New information mixed in with stuff we've heard before. Thank you for the post of the info!
