Regarding the End of the Open Beta Test

We would like to thank everyone who has participated in the FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test.

The open beta test currently being conducted is scheduled to end at 5:00 p.m. on September 19, 2010 (PDT). Following the end of the open beta test, the beta test site will close at 12:00 a.m. on September 20, 2010 (PDT).

• Client downloads will cease simultaneously with the end of the open beta test.
  
• The bug report form will be closed simultaneously with the beta test site.

There isn’t much time left in the open beta test, but we would like to thank everyone for their cooperation and support.

• An issue which caused players to, if they had changed equipment immediately after performing a “stand up” emote from a chair, warp to the location where their last “stand up” emote was performed upon selecting the emote again has been addressed.
  
• Server settings have been adjusted.

World Status

We've added a World Status page to FFXIVCore.com. It can be located in our navigation bar in the middle of Blogs and Podcast.

Make sure to check it out before freaking out if you can't connect to your world, the patch server or lobby. Remember login + lobby and your world must be up in order to get into the game. The World Status page is updated every 5 minutes. We're looking into adding more features to it, but no ETA.

As always, we're at hard work on our FFXIV Wiki and we love all the contributions that the community have done so far, keep them coming! Some of the things we've added recently is a revamped navigation, over 2000 new pages of information, including the main quests and tons of items. Look forward to even more updates. Interested in contributing? Go crazy, but please read our information in the Wiki Hall first.

When I saw the "End of Open Beta" I thought it was going to say it was ending within the next 2 days! Glad to see they are going until the 19th. Well was fun.

I was guessing it was going to end after this weekend to prepare for launch but it's nice to see well get another full week.

i would like to know what 'server settigns adjusted' means, have they fixed any lag or something? or is it something that they just put there to make it look like they did something.

im glad it doesnt close till the 19th as my new pc will arrive 15-16 and i can have a quick look how it runs before it goes down.

its been fun! but we still got a week left T_T:th_086_64color:

I thought the same :) , I just got my new PC two days ago so I just finally got to check out the beta. I'm happy its til the 19th plenty of time to check it out. Wouldn't want to get too deep into it anyway with the incoming wipe.

Beta ends with 3 days for gamers to catch up on sleep and say good bye to family and friends which they will only communicate with via the FFXIV client....

Unless SE puts a don't forget family and friends reminder upon boot right? :)

I have 2 days in which I can tell my wife I love her and that I will miss her so... then in 6 months I will see her again when she starts playing the PS3 version.

Can't wait for release date! However, seeing that the game stops once you get past the first part of the quest (in my case, Color of Sin from Gridania, WHICH I LUFFS. :3), I'd rather do the grinding and levequest timer waiting once the game is released. More persona 3 for me! :3 God, I love that game. By the time I beat it, I'll be perfectly ready to get this game. .. Well, there's also the new Pokemon game coming out next Saturday... And I still have to play WoW and get to level 80... GAH! There's so much to do! D:D:D: Oh well, I'll figure it out once it gets there. But seriously, I can't wait!

Probably a good time to check out crafting skills. 1 week of trying to get use to the controls, now 1 week of the other complicated part. =P

wow, that's a little unexpected. I'm sort of wondering how on earth I'll spend that much time in game without getting too far ahead. haha
I've been intentionally not leveling so I don't lose too much come retail.
I do appreciate the few days rest though before I have to hit it hard for real

They don't want people to hit it hard, they expect us CE buyers to log in, say wow, do 1 leve, and part 1 of quest 1, and then be like "Wow look at the time, its been 45 minutes! I better wind down, more then 1 hour of gaming per day is bad for my health"
