Section 3: One Man Army

You continue to flip the pages until you see another section marked: "OMA". There seem to be a lot of sketches with pictures of fiends, and then some kind of mechanical, cyberpunk version of those enemies. There is also a quick doodle of a weapon that looks very familiar to Rikku's Claws in X, and a picture of a group of people in a lab, working around a suit of Tron-like armor.
Would you like to read?

----Author's Note----
One Man Army comes second in favoritism next to Epic of Gilgamesh for me. I really LOVE this storyline, and sometimes wonder how the heck I came up with it. I really hope you enjoy it too. :th_021_:

Hello out there...My name is Juda. I work at the forensics lab in lower Synnas Salis. It's nothing special really...I'm mostly in charge of identifying cause of death. I mean, it's important and everything but--

Jeeze, I'm getting way off subject here. This isn't about me, not even my job...

It's about the weird body (a CRYSTALIZED BODY) in a suit of armor, that one of our baanga friends Corbin dropped off for us today...And it is the strangest thing I've ever seen in my life.

Nobody has ever seen that kind of technology before in our lives. It's WAY beyond anything we're doing or even have at this time period. My brain is swimming with possibilities, and I bet yours is too but there's just one problem...

It came from the Lindbum.

You know about the Lindbum; it was one of the Cocoon Model spaceships that was launched right after the Nargong invaded the planet.
You know...the Nargong...the big, scary guy who's been turned into a stone-like crystal ever since the battle all the non-Humes call: "The Awakening"?

This guy was a tyrant. First, he convinced the other races on the planet that we were treating ourselves better, like gods. Of course, we kind of were, but proclaiming war and trying to extinguish our people isn't the most diplomatic ways to do it. I was only like, three when it happened. I don't even remember ever living on one of those ships.
When we all escaped, he enslaved the others and made himself god of the world. God figure, that's what he wanted in the first place. Of course, he had everybody so brainwashed that we couldn't even go back down to the planet without being wiped out completely. He had made it that way.
Somehow, he was defeated by someone else. Nobody knows the full story...nobody alive anyway.

Anyway, the Lindbum was our fleets flagship. She was the biggest, had the most people, had the most guns, the best crew, and of course, one of the greatest men to ever work a crew-- General James Steno, the Fourth. Not to mention, they also had Cid Denton, one of the biggest and greatest mechanical minds in the history of the world...he was a genius.

But then one day....it crashed. It didn't just crash, it EXPLODED and crashed. Before it did, we lost complete contact with the entire ship, according to records. When the first ships got there though, the Lindy was going down in flames, worse than flames, with a few escape pods deployed and a LOT of confused people who survived. All of them indicate that they were ordered to leave by Steno himself...but why is beyond anybody's imaginings. Since, the wreckage hasn't been found, and there are almost no records about what happened to that ship.

Until today.

A crew working on restoring an old farmland found the Lindbum, mostly intact, but almost completely unable to be recognized. It was a good thing we labeled the ships with serial numbers, let's just say that.
But what Corbin found in that ship was even more amazing...it's a suit of armor, like I said, beyond the technology of anything we ever had.

Kerwin, one of the workers who does technology, has been tapping into one of the files stored INSIDE the suit to see what it's been through. Moogles, they can do anything with wires and bits these days...

We're still trying to identify just what this armor is, who made it, and what it's been through.

What makes me suspicious is that it was found in a spacecraft...that wasn't part of the Lindbum at all.

======================================

One Man Army is a pretty obvious title. You basically control a character who has the ability to turn any foe into an ally....a REALLY COOL CYBERPUNK-TYPE ALLY!
You can use all of your foe-turned-friend's abilities, like their magic and weapons. (Behemoth, for example, have really awesome Claymores.)

All this character is armed with is a really complicated piece of machinary that is a claw, a pistol, and a lightsaber-looking scimitar. The whole game works a lot like Kingdom Hearts and the Limit Breaks in them....it's really, really going to be awesome. I think the players will like being able to choose their own party in a sense, and use their understanding of there enemies to eliminate them in a new way.

It is going to be....so, so awesome.
