alright every one. today being 11/11/11 i thought i would do a musing on numbers. when you learned how to count, you started from 1-10. there is a reason for this. for you see, the number 10, is not really the 10th digit, but rather the second and first put together. when you count, you start from 0-9. but here is the problem, 0, is a very special number. it is one that was created to represent something, and that is nothing. if you just had a brain fart just then, imagine what a young child would feel about the number 0. it represents an existential problem that a child's mind simply could not reconcile. if the number 0 could think, it would be depressed about its existence because it represents nothing, which in fact is actually to represent something. such a paradox is what i love about the number 0. so the next time you start counting, you should start from 0 just for fun. then you will be truly representing our numerals accurately and paying homage to the number 0 as you should. so in effect, 0=1 and nothing is something; and therefore 1 is also my favorite number. how is that for a paradox.
by the way, 111111 is 63 in decimal. and 3F in Hex.

Children are taught 0 simultaneously with 1-10. They have no problem with it. There is neither an existentialism, nor a paradox here. 0 is a numeral that represents absence. It's a simple concept.
